How does renting a car in Ibiza work?

Renting a car is easily done in a few steps through the booking form:

1. You start the booking process by entering the dates, date, pick-up location and age.

2. Then you immediately see the available models and prices. There you choose a car that perfectly suits your needs.

3. On the next page you can find the extras, such as booking a child seat, additional driver(s) and/or the ‘all-in one’ insurance.

4. Then fill in the additional driver details and you can complete the booking process.

5. After you have completed the booking process, you will immediately receive a booking confirmation. Always check your spam or junk mail, sometimes the confirmation ends up there.

What do I need to rent a car?

To rent a car, you need a valid driver’s license, a valid identity card or passport and a credit card. It is also possible to rent a car without a credit card. Read more about this under the question: can I rent a car without a credit card?

What is the minimum age to rent a car?

The minimum age to rent a small car in Ibiza is 21. You must therefore have your driver’s license for at least 2 years. For other car models, the following applies: – Medium cars and SUVs: from 23 years of age and 3 years of driving license. – Minivans 7 – 9 seats: from 25 years of age and 3 years of driving license. – Convertibles, Jeeps, electric vehicles and luxury models: see information about the corresponding car in the booking form.

Can I rent a car without a credit card?

Yes, you can also book a car with your debit/credit card (Ideal). In this case, an additional deposit will be deducted from the debit card. For this situation, when taking out an “all-in-one” insurance, you pay the following deposit amounts at the start: small cars: €200, middle class cars: €300 and the other cars: €500. When taking out only basic insurance you pay the excess amount + the aforementioned deposit amount.

Does the credit card have to be in the name of the main driver?

No, with this car rental company it is not necessary. However, this is the case with other car rental companies. Credit cards are accepted from all fellow travelers.

Where can I pick up the car?

You can choose to pick-up the car at the airport (airport surcharge á €15), at the headquarters of the organization in San Antonio or have it delivered on location (for a rental period of at least 7 days and with a surcharge of €80 per trip).

If you want to pick up your car at the airport, you can do so at the P1 parking lot at Ibiza Airport. This parking lot is located directly opposite the arrivals hall, just a 2-minute walk away. Once you have made your booking, you will receive a confirmation email with detailed instructions on how to pick-up the car.

Do I have to pay a deposit when renting a car?

When you make a booking within 90 days before arrival, you pay the full amount. If your arrival is after 90 days, you can also choose to pay the full amount in advance. Then you get 5% discount.

Which insurance can I take out when renting a car?

Option 1 ‘’deposit’’

The deposit is paid at the beginning of the rental period and refunded afterwards (in maximum 72 hours) if there is no new damage. Is there any new damage? Then the deposit is used to pay the repair costs. Should the repair be cheaper than the deposit, the remaining amount will be refunded. This insurance covers damage to third parties, occupants and theft. The amount of the deposit depends on the type of car.

Option 2 “all-in one” insurance:

For extra peace of mind, you can take out comprehensive insurance, which exempts you in case of any damage. You pay no deposit but a fixed amount per day. This insurance is the most comprehensive car insurance and covers any damage and associated repair costs.

What happens if I have driven damage?

If there is new damage then the car will be driven to an independent garage. If the amount of the repair of the damage is less than the excess amount, you will be refunded the difference once the official bill is received from the independent garage. The comprehensive ‘all-in-one’ insurance covers all damages except for reckless action/driving, wrong fuel refueling and theft/loss/damage/wettling of the car key or locking it in the car/scooter.

Are there any fees when canceling a booking?

There is no additional cancellation fee if you cancel more than 72 hours in advance. Do you cancel less than 72 hours before arrival? Then you pay:

1 day extra rental for small and middle class cars
2 days extra rental for special models

Exception for the months of June, July, August and September for all automatics, jeeps, convertibles, minibuses, electric cars and other luxury cars. The following applies:

-Cancel at least 30 days before arrival? Then you pay nothing.

-Cancelbetween 30 and 15 days before arrival? Then you pay 10% of the total amount.

-Cancel less than 15 days before arrival? Then you pay 20% of the total amount (the minimum amount is always 2 rental days of the valid counter rate).

What is the fuel policy?

The fuel policy is: full tank pick up and full tank return.
